Black Diamond Camalot C4: From $75
After more than a decade, Black Diamond updated its Camalot C4. The new version is 10% lighter yet keeps the same shape, camming angle, and placement ranges as the original. The larger cams now have stiffer stems while the smaller cams have more flexible stems, so now the group all has the same flex.
Jetboil Flash Stove: $115
The Jetboil is a self-contained cooking stove that can boil water for pouch food or coffee in less than 2 minutes. The design protects from the wind with a screen and has an easy-ignition switch to eliminate the use of matches or lighters.
The stove packs down into itself for transport. When apart, the lid works as a strainer and the bottom as a bowl or mug.

This is a pocket-size stove for backpacking trips that can boil 1 L of water in 3.5 minutes. It uses MSR IsoProp fuel canisters, which burn for up to 60 minutes. It includes a windshield and adjustable flame control as well as a hardshell carrying case to protect it in your pack.
Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL3 Tent — 3-Person, 3-Season: $550
Big Agnes makes the Copper Spur three-person tent for multiday backpacking trips. (GearJunkie just ranked the two-person version as the best overall backpacking tent.)
The Copper Spur 3 has two doors and awnings yet stays under 4 pounds. The steep wall design is intended to increase interior space when you’re sitting up inside. The mesh body adds breathability and lets you see through to the outside. The rainfly can be propped up with trekking poles on its own to act as a temporary shelter or sunshade.
Salomon X Ultra 4 Hiking Shoe — Men’s: $120
It took a few years, but Salomon has redesigned its X Ultra line of hiking boots with a new chassis and a wider toebox. The previous iteration was our editors’ favorite overall hiking boot.
Salomon built the ADV-C chassis to fight supination and uses active support wings to hold feet in place. The X Ultra has an 11mm drop, uses EnergyCell foam for cushion, and the Contagrip MA sole is built to grip wet and dry trails.
